Aspen Power Completes Six Pennsylvania Solar Projects, Increasing Total To 145 MW
Aspen Power announced that it has completed six solar projects totaling 25.5 MW of direct current generation capacity in Pennsylvania. The projects are expected to produce up to 37 million kWh of electricity in their first year of operation, which is enough to power 5100 homes annually.
These projects represent the first half of a portfolio Aspen Power acquired from Sunrise Energy, which originated the projects. Aspen Power co-developed the projects in conjunction with Sunrise Energy. Aspen Power’s full portfolio of completed or contracted solar projects in Pennsylvania totals more than 145 MW.
Pennsylvania has set a target of achieving 18% of its electricity from renewable sources by 2025. These commercial net metering solar projects will help advance that goal while allowing residents, businesses, and other organizations to participate in the renewable energy future.
The six sites bring roughly 480 jobs to the state through the development, construction, and maintenance of the solar systems. The projects also make use of American-made components.

To date, Aspen Power has developed or acquired more than 600 renewable energy projects across 26 states in its pursuit to build the clean energy future.
