Burckhardt Compressors For Germany LNG Terminal
Expected To Begin Operations In 2027, The Brunsbüttel Terminal Will Have An Annual Capacity Of 280 Bcf
Burckhardt Compression (Burckhardt) will supply boil-off gas and pipeline injection compressors for a new liquefied natural gas (LNG) regasification terminal in Brunsbüttel, Germany. Expected to begin operations in 2027, the Brunsbüttel terminal will have an annual capacity of 280 Bcf (8 x 109 m3)
German LNG Terminal GmbH – a joint venture between German bank Kreditanstalt für Wiederaufbau, Dutch gas network operator Gasunie, and German energy company RWE – planned and is building the project. The terminal will include two jetties. Jetty 1 will be equipped to handle most seagoing LNG carriers, up to a length of 1131 ft. (345 m) and an LNG capacity of 9.4 MMcf (267,000 m³). Jetty 2 will be able to handle the smaller bunker barges and LNG carriers, up to 590 ft. (180 m) length. The terminal will have a maximum unloading rate of 494,405 scf/h (14,000 m³/h) of LNG transfer to land-based LNG storage tanks. LNG will be re-gasified and fed into the gas grid.
