1 minute(s) Read

Cementos Avellaneda S.A., a manufacturer of cementitious products, and power generation services provider Industrias Juan F. Secco (SECCO) have announced the startup of the La Calera Solar Park, a 22-MW solar project in La Calera, province of San Luis, Argentina. Located on 121 acres (49 ha), the renewable project has 46,800 bifacial monocrystalline solar panels. The solar field will supply power to the Cementos Avellaneda industrial plant.

“The start-up of the La Calera Solar Park represents a milestone within the sustainability objectives of our company and our decarbonization plan throughout the entire life cycle of our products,” said José Luis Maestri, chief executive officer of Cementos Avellaneda. “It will allow us to supply 55% of the electricity demand of our factory with renewable energy generated on our own property, which will reduce our carbon dioxide emissions equivalent to the amount absorbed by more than 300,000 trees in a year.”
