Burckhardt And HRS To Develop Compressor Systems For High-Capacity Hydrogen Refueling

1 minute(s) Read

Burckhardt Compression has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Hydrogen Refueling Solutions (HRS), a European designer and manufacturer of hydrogen refueling stations and a specialist in hydrogen mobility. HRS and Burckhardt Compression will develop high-capacity hydrogen refueling stations to address heavy-duty mobility market, light-utility vehicles, and future opportunities.

Under the three-year, non-exclusive agreement, Burckhardt Compression and HRS will collaborate by adapting existing compression technologies to develop high-capacity hydrogen refueling stations. The target is to deliver refueling solutions with capacities above 1 ton a day.

“This agreement is great news for hydrogen mobility,” said Hassen Rachedi, founding chair and CEO of HRS. “The pooling of our knowledge and best practices will enable us to propose new solutions to boost the development of heavy-duty mobility and make hydrogen mobility more accessible to the public.”

“HRS is a pioneer and leader of the European fuel station market, and we are delighted to support them with our compression technology and expertise,” said Fabrice Billard, designated CEO at Burckhardt Compression. “With this partnership, we aim to contribute to the energy transition with reliable and economical compression solutions to scale up the hydrogen infrastructure.”
