Companies To Develop More Sustainable Compressors For Hydrogen Applications

 

Mehrer Compression GmbH (Mehrer) and Voith are partnering to develop, manufacture, and market more environmentally friendly and sustainable compressors for hydrogen (H2) applications. The focus of the partnership will be on the development of high-pressure H2 solutions up to 13,053 psi (900 bar) for applications such pipeline compression, trailer filling, and filling station infrastructure.

The partnership gives Voith access to Mehrer’s more than 130 years of compressor experience and expertise. Headquartered in Balingen, Germany, Mehrer offers customized technologies with dry running reciprocating compressors in vertical or V-construction as well as single- and two-stage diaphragm compressors for final pressures of up to 14,503 psi (1000 bar).
